how long do i need to use a back-up when switching birth control pills?

i switched from one kind of pill to another (estrostep to loestrin), and i just wanna know when i am safe to stop using a back up (its been almost 3 weeks on the new pills).

I tell my patients.. One full cycle.. regardless of new pills, changing pills, etc..
So that their hormones can equalize according to the pills.
You are almost there..
should be no sweat.
