can anyone tell me about intell processers? does anyone know the order from which is best to worst? Where does celeron fall compared to pentium?

Okay let me clean this up a little, everyone seems to be forgetting the Pentium D, the Pentium Ds are better than the Pentium 4s, even if they have a lower clock speed. The new Core 2 Duo processors are the best processors out, AMD or Intel. Celeron are really just cheaper versiouns of Pentiums. So overall here would be my ranking, best to worst.

Core 2 Duo
Pentium D
Pentium 4
Celeron D
Celeron

By the way Pentium 4 and Celeron D are very close in benchmarking, so you could go either way, but you really might as well go to at least Pentium D at this point.

The most recent intel processors are the Core 2 duo which were just released, they offer dual core capabilities and fix many of the pentium 4 problems high heat etc.

to simplify go for a core duo or core 2 duo if looking at the desktop market. The centrino duo if mobile or pentium m.

Intel makes processors for many kinds of computers, components, and embeded devices. I am assuming that you are asking about the processors they make for Personal Computers.

The celeron processor is a Pentium processor. What makes the processor different (and cheaper) is that it has less cache. Cache memory is faster than main memory and it also costs more to make.

forget about celeron, get p4 lga 3.0 or 3.2 full cache they are the best!
