My cycle used to be very long, so the doctor gave me birth control pills to regulate it. I only took them for one month (just 1 pack **the whole month of july**) and then I stopped. Now its August and my cycle is almost 2 weeks late. (Note: I'm not having sex so I'm not pregnant!)

Why isnt my cycle coming on?? Did I mess something up inside of me when I started taking the pills? Do I have to go to the doctor??

Please help!! I'm getting scared.

Hi there!!

If the doctor gave you birth control pills, continue to take them until otherwise instructed. Birth control releases hormones that help you get onto an even cycle----your body was just getting used to the pills when you stopped taking them the end of July. That is most likely the reason that your cycle is irregular. Call your doctor, explain the situation and if you do not have any more birth control pills get more and begin taking them on a regular basis. Hope this helps!! :)

I am sure that you are ok, but I would go to the doctor. Just to figure out whats going on. I had to do that too when I was 15. Go on the pill to regulate. It worked pretty well. You should stay on the pill for 6 months to see permanent improvement.

There is nothing wrong with you your body, this happens all the time. Regulating your period with chemicals is one way to do it. But your mind can do it to. Could you read Womens Wisdom Womens Health by Christiane Northrup?
She wrote some 60 pages related to the female cycles. The book will show you how to deal with and see through your cyles and how they relate to your lifestyle patterns.
The book will probably be some 25 dollars.
I give my clients advice based on this book.

Well sometimes if you take birth control that can do something to your cycle. It depends on which birth control you use though. But it does happen to girls who aren't on birth control either. For instance it happens to me sometimes and I am definatly not having sex and I'm not on birth control. If your really worried about it ask your doctor.

Must stay on the pills, taking them once dose not cure you from irregularity. You have to take them every day every month.
