I found this old record player inside my grandmother's house and I am not sure on how to use it. There is a knob that has the numbers 16, 33, 45, and 78. There is another knob that says REJ, ON, MAN, and OFF. What is REJ?

Reject. It means stop playing the record that's currently playing, and go to the next one in the stack.

Boy, I feel ancient.

The numbers are the various speeds for playback. Records can be recorded for playback at certain speeds--the most common being 33 rpm (or revolutions per minute). 78 is the second most common and is usually the speed of the smaller single-song records. I'm not quite sure what REJ stands for but I know that it resets the needle to the start of the record. MAN allows you to set the needle on the record.

the numbers are for turntable speed 33 are for the big ones 45 for the small ones with the big hole in the center.
on turns it on,ma lets you put the record on the turntable by hand ans set the needle on the record (takes some skill),off means turn table off, reject lifts the needle off the record and put the needle arm in it s rest position.
i never thought i'd have to explain that ever.OLD,OLD,OLD!

I dunno what REJ stands for but those numbers will determine how fast or slow the record will spin. Play it too fast and it'll sound like the chipmunks singing ;)
