If they're going to cut off oil to the U.S. at some point, why not nuke the whole region, and start over?

That's not a bad idea. First...we should get all the innocent people out of there, then send George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Karl Rove, you, and a few other people over there. :)

The simplest answer, in my opinion, is that we try to be the good guys, and good guys don't just blow away all the innocent civiilians even though they could. We could have nuked Afghanistan on the afternoon of 9/11 (I would have if I'd had the power to), but instead we went in with mostly conventional weapons and soldiers. This was to get the bad guys, but also to avoid as many civilian casualties as we could. The same with Iraq.

If we really let loose the reins on our military, we could have Iraq in a peaceful and secure way within a month, but it would mean taking all the reporters out and just letting the military brass do what was the best thing to do without worrying about the P.R. angle. Example: the terrorists are hiding inside a mosque, which is currently an off-limits target. If we didn't have to worry about the pictures getting on the evening news, our soldiers could just target the mosque with an artillery round, killing all the insurgents(terrorists) inside, with complete safety to our soldiers.

Besides, the radiation thing would be bad for about 1000 years, and I will need gas before then.

First off, the oil news right now (8%) is a DOMESTIC issue, not an international one. Read more than the headline next time.

Second...for once, why don't we point the finger at Big Oil, major auto manufacturers, and the politicians who put them in their pockets? Combined, the three have secured our dependence on foreign oil. Technology has existed for FIFTY YEARS to produce SEDANS capable of getting better gas mileage than all but the most fuel efficient shoebox cars on the market today. This is but one example; there are others.

Simply stated, environmentalism and conservationism just don't make enough money in industrialized superpower nations to warrant the attention the world needs them to receive.

We've made our bed, and now we're lying in it. Time to stop blaming others for our own shortcomings.

WE have Tomahawks with fuel-air explosive war heads. The big Tomahawks can carry 10 war heads. They can burn entire cities with fuel-air explosive.

First the MOAB, when the shock wave clears, in comes the Tomahawk. The entire city is flattened and then burned with fuel-air explosive. The fuel-air explosive burns everything left and it burns off all the oxygen. There is no way to survive!

With our satellites we can target every Arab city in any terrorist nation, and then lock them all into a firing solution. Then at 3am any morning the order was given, every Arab city targeted could be blown clean off the face of the Earth, all at the same time.

We could land our troops 30 minutes later and own the entire nation. There wouldn’t even be anyone left to shoot at our soldiers. The only thing that would be left are giant smoking holes in the sand. Maybe then the other nations would say “ What ever you do don’t piss off the Americans! They can blow away our whole nation with the push of a button, just like they did to those stupid Arabs!” Maybe being “ Dust in the Wind” would stop all stupid BS America bashing. At least to our face, what they to themselves behind our backs doesn’t matter.
