That's what I'd like to know! Swearing is great.

Words are words. I use swear words a lot but I'm also a grown adult.

It becomes a matter of manners and class. I have a cousin who uses the word fu*k constantly and that's fine if it's just me and her but when she continued to use it when she went with me to enroll my children in school then it became a problem.

There are appropriate times and places for using profanity. Some people look at it as rude and offensive. If you don't want people to think your trashy then don't use them in certain situations.

As far as kids saying it. I certainly don't want my 8 year old daughter screaming out "Holy sh*t, mom look down that f*cking aisle there's that God dam* sauce you were looking for" while at the grocery store. It's just inappropriate.

I view swear words as just that...words. Words are not wrong, words are not morally offensive. People irrationally place importance on words, when what is really important are the feelings and context behind the usage of the word. For example: if somebody is angry, and they use the word "freaking" instead of its counterpart, they're still displaying anger, and everybody knows what they wanted to say. It is irrational for people to single out and put any amount of importance on swear words, and we'll be better off as a society as soon as people simply accept them.

Words are for communicating; words should not be "forbidden."

I find swear words offensive if they are taken out of context.
If you're mad and you say Oh f....off or f...it. I can understand it but if you're saying Oh, that was f.....g funny or did you get the f....g joke etc. that is stupid and offensive and the other words depicting male and female organs I hate with a passion.

I think swearing is stupid and pointless and it makes you sound like a mindless idiot who can't come up with anything better to say. It's tacky, rude, and entirely unnecessary. There are lots of words to express whatever it is you feel like saying. Be a little more creative and have a little more class. I am definitely offended by swearing.

It's not funny. It shows that you have a limited vocabulary and lack the maturity to properly express yourself - whether happy, sad, or angry - and only makes YOU look bad. It's disgusting for women, especially. I laugh at people who use swear words all the time as part of their regular vernacular, since it's absolutely no reason for it.

It just depends on their context. I think someone saying the F-word 15 times in once sentence is rediculous and stupid. Honestly I find that people cuss just to cuss show a lack of respect for others as well as limited vocabulary. Now, if I'm really angry or if I stub my toe, I'm likely to utter a word or two. But I don't see the point in using profanity as part of everyday conversation.

I don't. I hear enough swear words from my uncles. I think they're funny, plus they can express how you really feel about an issue. Just don't cuss out your boss when he/she fires you. There is a time and a place for swearing, and I can't avoid it. I hear cussing everywhere I go! For example, my uncle likes to tell me his stories of when he was in the navy, and he'll say, "I was on that f---kin island for 2 f--kin weeks! It f---kin sucked!" LOL! What do think about that?

Swearing is a way of adding emphasis to your speech. It is used by those with a limited vocabulary who don't know how to make their words exciting without using swearing.
I'd recommend expanding your vocabulary so you aren't dependent on profanity which won't be acceptable when you are in the workplace.
