Definitely does. That's why doctors limit the x-ray taking to only the extremely essential situations when the benefit of taking the x-ray far out weigh the effects.

Babies grow in their mother's uterus, not her stomach.
If you're pregnant and are going to have x-rays done you should tell the x-ray technician that you're pregnant so they can put a special drape over your abdomen to help block the x-rays from getting to your unborn child.

Yes, xrays should only be done if they are absolutely needed during pregnancy and they should not be done on the abdomen. If they are necessary, the abdomen of the woman should be shielded with the lead vest throughout the procedure. Xrays can cause breaks in the fetal DNA leading to birth defects.

MOST DEFINITELY!!! They can kill cells that are developing into organs, extremities, etc. It is wisdom to avoid xrays during pregnancy.... I f a child came forth with a problem you would not want that looming over your head. Should ve would've couldve. I have xray for a emergency tooth extraction while I was 6 1/2 months pregnant with my daughter, she was fine.. We used two of the protective approns and another prtective pad over my tummy, Even if you are not preg. protect yourself too much of anything carries its own consequences. BE CAREFUL.

Yes. Its why at the dentist they make you wear that lead vest...to protect a fetus you may not know you're carrying.
This is why you should ALWAYS inform any medical professional that you're pregnant.

Yes. This is why you're asked if you're pregnant before taking an x-ray.
