Let's see, when did I first realize I was getting old... hmmm
Its been so long ago I don't remember.
Maybe it was when I got my first offer to join AARP.
When I got turned down trying to donate blood.
When I received coupons in the mail for Depends, Cortaid, Fixi-Dent, Grecian Formula, and I could use most of them.
When fifty-ish people started calling me "Old Man".
When I realized new appliances don't come with dials and on-off switches.
When I couldn't find an ethyl pump at the gas station.

When watching American Idol a couple of years ago when the cut off age was 27, I thought "Damn, too late for that dream" Not that I ever wanted to, or even ever would want to be on the cursed show, it's just that I thought that 28 was sort of young for TV folks to be calling it "too old". But the more I watch the new shows that come out these days, <<(another term only used by the well seasoned crowd..."these days") the more I realize our generation is being pushed back to the old folks era. Sad, sometimes I still feel like I'm a kid.
P.S. It made my day to see ol, Taylor Hicks win that thing, grey and all.

Yes, I too now listen to CLASSIC rock and I remember when these songs first came out. Remember when the astronaut with the American flag first came out on MTV? What about that song "I Want My MTV"? The shows we used to watch on ABC, and CBS at night now comes on Nick at Night. Do you remember taking computer class at school and the only colors on the screen were black and white? When I stand up I grab my back and grunt. Oh, and those gray hairs are platinum blond.

Yeah, pretty much everything you said. Plus, when all the little ones I knew are drinking age now. When my child along with some of her classmates call their teachers old and I am older than they are. When my back goes out more than I do. And most recently seen a question on here asking what a floppy disk was, I had to laugh.

The first time I actually realized it was when I was 29 (22 years ago) and getting married. I went to get my shoes and the sales clerk, who was probably about 20, called me 'mam'...Another time was last year I was on the elevator at work and about 7 or 8 cops got on and they all looked like they just graduated high school. They got off, and I said to another woman my age, wow you know you're getting old when the cops look like babies. LOL

I realize it everytime we discuss music on this one site I am at and a person asks what a vinyl record (45's, 33's, 78's...no matter these kids dont know what they are) is....worse yet I remember 8-tracks and reel to reels! By the way I aint really old either...that's not gray...it's metallic highlighting!

Referring to records and albums. Hearing my music on a "lunch time flashback" Remembering when MTV began. Paying 150+ for concert tickets for bands that I liked growing up...THat's kind of when I realized I was getting old.

I'm not old...but at 27 I finally got to this place I waited to get to, to be who I was totally meant to be...and I suddenly realize now that there is no plateau up here, that it just starts going back down and starts with the scattering of white hairs that have already spouted against my wishes.

Last school year one of my students was throwing a fit because another student got to use the "new" scissors. I told her that even though she had to use the old ones they actually worked better then the new ones. She looked at me and said, "I guess you're right, Ms. Friskey, just look at you. You're old and YOU still work".....LOL

when someone played music and all I could think about was it was too loud and I'm getting permanent hearing damage
When my "sexy" college clothes stopped fitting
When I'd rather go to sleep on a friday night, rather than going out
When now I'd rather be home by 11pm, instead of just starting my night
