Political Science developed as a college major at the major party schools in the USA. Usually students would enter college with noble intentions and major in engineering, sciences or architecture. For the slackers, they would choose majors in some liberal arts like English, anthropology or economics. After many long nites of partying, they couldn't handle even liberal arts so psychology was offered as a major. For the bottom of the barrel, political science is the ultimate major for slackers, football players or those that cannot handle any other major.

The wide number of political science graduates demanded jobs at some point after graduation, many years after sometimes. Eventually jobs opened up in government as civil servants with the most corrupt able to rise to government office. Those left over were well suited to work the nighttime window at McDonalds.

Today, Political Science remains the ultimate slacker degree and occupation and is expected to remain popular for years to come.
