Wow, good question. I don't think I've seen a question that has illicted this many intelligent responses before.

Life is simple. Leading a simple life requires maturity and wisdom, which requires discomfort to achieve. To avoid that discomfort, people needlessly complicate things.

I think life is simple, but we make it very complicated at times. My life was quite simple until I Had six kids, five boys, one girl and oh there will be sports in their future. That will get rough trying to make all the games and practices. However, I chose to have all the kids. It didn't happen on it's own. So I am the one who made life and the future complicated. Yes my friend it is a choice.

I like to think that life basically boils down to four basic points:

1) material stuff will never make you happy. Resist buying things you don't need and live simply.

2) Understand and expect human nature.

3) Realize that most things aren't a big deal and don't require much of a reaction.

4) Maintain a sense of joy and wonder at the world around you.

If I had to add a fifth thing it would be "never resist temptation unless it would hurt someone you love."

PS - My life would seem complicated. But to me it is simple because I know what I want from it.

If you break human life down to it's most basic component, DNA, it's pretty damn complicated. Far more so than we can understand, in fact. But if you look at the actual act of living, it really is pretty simple. You need food, water, oxygen, sleep, and a temperature that is not too extreme. The rest is just details. So I would say that life is very simple, while also being very complex, and therein lies its magic.

Life is as complicated or as simple as we make it and that changes from day to day. We have Wants. We have Needs. There are arguements as to what belongs on which list. Some argue that all we need is air, food, and shelter. Some argue that we need fulfillment, personal satisfaction, and happiness. Unfortunately, there isn't a simple answer to this question. Some things just are.

Life is very simple if by life you understand the life cycle and its basic needs. Life is very complicated if by life you try to understand or re-create life itself. If what you mean is the act of living life itself..., it can be as simple or complicated as your brain makes it as well as simple or complicated by the inevitable interaction with others and their own mind processes.

Life is simple. People make it complicated.

People with all their ill intentions, with anxiety, desires, unnecessary things make it as complicated as possible.

They don't know why they are doing. They make it so horrible they don't bother about the others. They just do the things at the cost of so many others. All this is not necessary.

It depends on how you look at life. There is a lot wrong in life but we as individuals are responsible for our own happiness and the happiness of others. It is our mind and the way we think that can complicate or simplify things we must take the time to turn inward calm our mind and look for ways to chage our negativity.

Life is very simple. We make it complicated when we try to obscure the truth in order to justify why we are doing something wrong.
