1st check out your state laws regarding trespassing. Each state has its own ideas.
Next, is there any reason to believe you could/or property could be injured? Check into ex parte.
In some states you can actually press charges if you can prove they have violated your personal rights by being on your property. But again, it depends on where you live!!!
If it continues consult with an attorney, about viable options.
Another option: tell them you'd like to discuss how you can make their life better by converting them to another religion. Always makes me run! lol

requests
warnings
a fence
a snarling dog inside the fence
if no fence, a motion detector that is triggered when people come within the boundary - and makes a lot of noise.
a letter from a lawyer, probably making threats about trespassing
a court order for the person to stay away ( you would need a GOOD reason for the court to award this)
========
sneakier methods include:
a rubber snake in the area they walk
something that attracts insects

i suspect that the police might be able to go talk to the people if you had video tape of the people on your property.

Camp out and shoot them when they step on your property. Nothing says "get the hell off my lawn" like a Winchester. Just kidding.
Hide a camera somewhere with a good view. It should record them on your property. After that, show the tape to the police as evidence.

Electric fence works very well, as does tazer guns.
Seriously, are they causing damage to your property? Are they harassing you?
I would call your clerk of courts for your county. They would be able to inform you of your rights as a land owner, and what official posting you need to have up in order to press charges for trespassing. If they come onto your land, take a picture of them on your property, and then take that to the police and press charges.
The police may feel like you are using them to harass them. If you press charges, they might feel like they are doing their job. Don't let them get away with things. Press charges. They may only get a ticket, but if they have to pay enough in tickets/fines, they may stay away.

The following is not a joke.
Louisiana Way to Do this Checklist:
(1) Shotgun
(2) Dogs
(3) Beer (Because this may take awhile)
Sit with shotgun and dogs. Drink. Wait. When the annoying jerk(s) step onto your turf, stand, shoot in the air, yell, and send in the dogs!

I think you should either fertilize your lawn (forever), or fence it and get a couple of intimidating dogs.
But, you do have a duty of due care to warn of dangers to known tresspassers, so you better post the "Beware of Dogs" signs all over your property.
Or, take video films of the tresspassers in the act, and you have your evidence.
Be sure the films are clear, taken several times, and a friend of yours is taking the shots, so that you may have him/her as a witness.

what are they doing that's ticking you off so bad? I've got people wandering around my property all the time. MY tactic is to go talk to them for so long that they don't WANT to come back for fear they may be wrangled into another 3 hour conversation on the pros and cons of gel shoe inserts.

post no trespassing signs- bad azz dog signs- set up video surveillance- motion detectors- in ground pressure plates- trip wires hooked to 12 guage signaling device- wireless sensors from radio shack. you can only commit homicide if you feel your life is threatened. if they came at you with a knife-- this would be good cause to blow them away. call for backup (friends) and tell them to bring the shotgun and surround them. myself-- i dont want any witnesses around when i issue payback. lowlifes that trespass around here walk on thin ice. i take no prisoners

Tell the police you want to file a complaint. They have to let you file the complaint.
If you rent the property, file a complaint with your landlord as well.

Put a warrant or a restraining order on these people! The police can at least do that.
