To me it means that without people who go beyond themselves ordinary people will not have any courage, inspiration or even guidance to set the bar higher and discover what lies beyond that invisible wall.

I think it means you never know what you're capable of until circumstances force you to act.

Without those people who go beyond themselves and what an average person can do, there will be no one to show us what lies outside beyond the everyday and ordinary. There wil be no one setting the bar higher. There will be no one for us to emulate. Without people who dare or have the courage to leave their comfort zones, none of us would discover what lies beyond the present human ken. We might stil be now cavemen cowering inside caves terrified of the noises in the night.

Heros always go farther than the average person does.Most ppl just live in a rut with the same old routine. Heros are the astronauts,soldiers, pioneersin dif fields, pioneers of Amer., etc.

Just keep on with life & do the best you can & you'll be surprised at how many heroes there are in plain everyday life. Heroes show us the way to be better.
