It depends on what you are looking for as far as room category. Personally, I don't like the standard rooms are either resort very well. At Wilderness, the location isn't real good. At Animal Kingdom, I feel the Savannah View is a must, but that is just me.

Both are similar resorts and run about the same rates, again depending on your room. They both are a darker themed hotel, Wilderness has a cabin feel to it. Even though it sounds a little crazy, in Florida, the fireplace is so relaxing to sit by.

It also depends on what parks you like the most. Animal Kingdom is really close to the Animal Kingdom park, so it is quick and easy to get there. But, it can be a little ride to the other Disney areas. Wilderness is located right by Magic Kingdom, so if you have younger children, that might be the way to go. For me, the biggest benefit of Animal Kingdom is the animals and being right by Animal Kingdom, also it would be the newest of the two. At Wilderness, the biggest benefits are being so close to Magic Kingdom and the boat, it is fun and cuts down on time a little.

The best thing I can tell you to do is look over the pros and cons of each and see which one is best for you. One thing you may consider looking at is the restaurants, does one offer more choices that you like, is one in a better location, does one have the room you like more, etc.

Really I think it just depends on personal preference, both are great choices. As far as the better value, I would say they are both pretty equal.

I hope this helps!

Wilderness Lodge "Woods View" rooms seem to be a little cheaper, but it's defintely much more worth it just to spend a little more to have the savannah view at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Just got back from my vacation today. We stayed at the Polynesian (much more expensive,) but went to both the Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge to eat at their restaurants, Artist Point and Boma- Flavors of Africa. I'm pretty Sure the children would love the AKL more, and it's definitely the better value. The Wilderness Lodge is not conveniently situated... it's the only Magic Kingdom Resort not connected to the monorail.

Both resorts are considered Deluxe Resorts for WDW which means that they are WDW's finest resorts on property. Consider vising waltdisneyworld. com for more information or contact AAA. They will have all the current going-rates for both resorts and can help you in planning your Walt Disney World vacation! Have fun! I love Disney!

Technically, calling them and asking about discounts would be your best bet. However, "value" is a general term. The view you would get from the Animal Kingdom Lodge is PHENOMENAL! Plus, try to GUARANTEE, NOT REQUEST, the best view, a low balcony, over looking the plain!
