Technology is a wonderful advancement in humanity. And I think it helps us become spiritual. Let me explain more throughly...
Technology sometimes makes us wonder how to improve our lives. People often adapt to new and best forms of technology, and they think the same way their ancestors did: "how are we going to improve our lives?" Right now, technology has given us almost unlimited access to anything, and then we wonder... "is there more on the horizon?" Dou you see what I'm getting into?
The fact is that technology will be evolving indefinitely, and our descendants will create new forms of technology, and the cicle will repeat over and over. It seems neverending. But once you have everything your parents have created... why are you still looking for more?
When a rich man has everything he has always wanted in his life... what can he do? He will be conscious that something is missing, and he will try to find what is it. That's why many rich people (once they have acomplished everything) tend to notice a bad feeling inside them: "I'm not happy, what's wrong with me?" "I have money, cars, family, world trips, islands... why don't I fell happy?".
When you have reached the limits of technology, you are conscious that something is wrong. That you're not spiritual, you're not happy. You know that having every material need in the world doesn't make you happy. That's when you have the opportunity to be spiritual, to be meditative and more conscious about life.
If you're poor, you're not conscious. You will be fighting to have money, you will dedicate your life in becoming rich. Once you're rich... you have it all, except spiritual awareness. Technology helps us become rich sooner, and it also helps us to become aware that we need to be spiritual. So technology helps us understand that something is wrong in our world, and we'll try to find something that transcends it. Someone then will understand that technology advances are not everything in this planet, and they can become enlightenned.

Even simple tools can be considered technology, and humans are not the only species to use tools. One can take the easy way out and say that technology itself doesn't destroy anything - it's what we do with it. For instance, we have the technology to produce plentiful food, but some nations grow obese while others starve. The question is: which is human nature, to help or to destroy?

Right now, it seems technology is helping humans but who know maybe one day technology will destroy everything we have. Technology is made by human and we somehow tend to destroy ourselves...

Technology is blueprint for tools, neither of which have consciousness. They are subject to the morality of our use of them, so some use them to help, others use them to destroy. Some people are ignorant of consequences, some are indifferent due to their priorities, others are malicious
