With your first baby you will probably be about 18-20 weeks before you are SURE it's the baby, but you can feel it earlier than that.

With later kids you will know for sure. I felt them as early as 13-14 weeks in later pregnancy because I knew what it felt like.

I could feel mine from around 11-12 weeks. This is not the norm. though. My first baby and I just felt like little bubbles in my uterus, not in my stomach or intestines...you can usually tell if it's coming from your uterus or not. Anyways, like little bubbles around my ovaries. Then around 14-15 weeks I felt flutters like really fast butterflies. Most of the time just like one flutter, so you have to be paying attention. Now baby is 36 weeks, and I feel her all the time! Congrats and enjoy. Oh yeah, and most doctors didn't believe me that I felt my baby so early on, but I know I did. Don't worry if you don't feel anything by 18 weeks, that's normal. Even 20 some weeks for some moms. If you want some more support, I suggest babyfit.com. It's a great preg. community and it's free.

I felt my baby move at 15 weeks and even though this is my second I was not entirely sure. I was under the impression that you could not detect fetal movement until the 5th month. Now I realize that same feeling is there along with big bumps and kicks so it was the baby all along.

I was 24 weeks (six months) before I felt my baby's first movement. It feels kind of like light popcorn popping. Or you could compare it to little butterflies. :o) Either way, it does feel weird. I wasn't positive it was the baby at first, because it's so light.

Usually, you'll feel it WEEKS before your husband will be able to - simply because he can only feel it from the outside. But once the baby starts actually kicking a little harder, he'll be able to feel it. :o) Eventually, you'll be able to see arms and feet poking out! That's probably the weirdest thing. :o)

I felt my baby move at around 16 weeks. I was sure it was the baby, and then when I felt it the second time, I knew for sure. It felt like a gas bubble or a rumbly tummy, but a little different. Now, she moves so much I can see her rolling around.

The average for being able to feel them move is about 3 months. And yes I knew that was exactly what it was.. lol The bigger the baby gets the more they will move and the more aware of the movements you will become.
