I've heard the statistic is 50 percent in America.
My folks are together and still in love after over 30 years of marriage.

My parents divorced 25 years ago, my mother was a single parent the whole time I was growing up. My parents were married way to young my mom was 16 and dad 21. My mother had not experienced the world yet and my dad wanted her to stay that way very overprotective of her.

It depends on the area. Where I grew up when a book was late you just addressed the letter to Mr. & Mrs. whatever, and a few times you had a parent with a different last name. I moved to this area and tried addressing letters like I was used to, and found out very few students had the same last name as their parents.

I do have a stepmother, but my mother died after 37 years of marriage. I am an oddity among my classmates. I am on my first marriage and all my children have the same father. But 3 of my teenage nieces have children. No one is perfect, and better to dump a jerk then stay with him because of the children

Yes, I too have heard that the divorce rate in the US is 50%+. It's sad if you think about it. Of all my American friends I know very few whos parents are still together. I don't know any of them whos parents are single parents, usually their parents are divorced.

I live in Canada, and I've found (in my area at least) that there are more parents who are still together. I'm not saying it's like this all over because I'm sure it's not. My parents have been together 35 years.

yaaaaaaaa.. 1 in 3 marriages are ended up in divorce today. I have a daughter. monnnney.. is kinda the reason I think, everything is expensive today, houses, Gas, Cars, having kids or a big family is expensive, Back in 1700's & 1800's families in America had 8, 10, 14 kids in their families. But today EVERYTHING IS EXPENSIVE. houses, cars, gas, clothes, electricity, There wasnt all that back then. AND today people take it out on fighting or alcohol abuse. IT ALL ADDS UP. then finally .... a divorce. ~~~~ LIFE .. It happened to me father of a high school kid, But I won custody 3 years ago. !!!!
