I am a conservative. I do not understand what a Neo Con is. I believe in the following:

1. Personal responsibility-I and only I am responsible for my circumstances in life. If I am willing to do what it takes then, I deserve what I earn.

2. We, as a society, must teach people how to fish for themselves. There are too many people who want to be fed without doing the work. This why I am against welfare. People who stay on it too long are no longer self-sufficient.

3. Use military force without regard against anyone who wishes to destroy us. Simply stating the US should die is enough to carpet-bomb them into a desert. Iran, this means you are next.

4. Affirmative Action is wrong. The correct way to address the gap in black progress is to teach black children the skills they need to succeed in the world. This means get rid of the crap rap they listen to. Also teach sexual morality. Having sex with anyone you can is detrmential to the person.

5. Marriage is 1 man and 1 woman. We have allowed the family to fall apart in America. Unwed mothers are not ok. A child needs a mom and a dad. Nature designed this for a reason.

6. I believe that God is my higher power. I am not the end all being in the world. Believing in God and his vision for me has been the only way I have survived some bad stuff. I have been able to find meaning in what goes on.

7. Less taxes better. When government cuts taxes, revenues increase. Liberals do not get this or do not want to get this.

8. Abortion is murder. Anytime you stop life from living, you are killing it. There are very few reasons why abortion is ok (mother's health for one). If a female has sex and gets pregnant, too bad. If you do not want a child, DO NOT HAVE SEX.

9. Man caused global warming is a fraud. First reason is the world goes through warm and cold times. We have a few hundred years of temperature data and the planet has been around for hundreds of millions of years. Secondly, everyone is flipping out over the ice caps melting. This had to happen thousands of years ago because there are cities buried underwater near where the tsunami hit in Asia. What could have caused this but a warm period that melted ice a long time ago.

10. Voluntarily privitizing Social Security. With all the ups and downs of the stock market, it still has produced a better return than Social Security. In Galveston, TX, SS was privitized in the 1980's. Returns are 2-3 times Social Security. I WANT TO TAKE CARE OF MYSELF AND MY OWN RETIREMENT. PEOPLE WHO DO NOT, TOO BAD.

I have many more principles, but this will be a good start.

One doesn't just decide, hey, I think I'll be neocon. As you sift through the issues and develop your opinions you find yourself agreeing with the same people. When you find they are labelled neocons, you figure you must be one too.

Neocons like peace and value life (2 charges normally levelled against us) just as much as everyone else but also subscribe to the belief that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

For the record, I supported the Iraq war in the beginning (not for all the crappy reasons foisted on the American public but) because Saddam was screwing around with us on the inspections. The French and Russians were willing to play along with him because they made tons of money supplying him. They tried to dissuade us from attacking him in order to save their accounts receivables.

So neocons look at geopolitics and the big picture.
