Hello!

If I were you, I would not take the chance of swimming without a tampon. I don't think you would bleed enough to discolor the water throughout the pool. However, the immediate area around you may be a little red or streaky. Also, other people in the pool may be freaked out by seeing someone's blood in the pool. I'm sure you too would be freaked out if you saw someone else's blood.

Since I get cramps on the first day or two of my period, wearing a tampon is uncomfortable. If that is the same case with you, I would just avoid swimming and take it easy doing something else. Otherwise, you can wear a tampon when you swim.

I hope this helps.

Yes you can swim while on your period but the minute you get up, you need to go straight to the toilet because the minute you are out of the water the blood will start to to drip. Anyway the best and safest way is to use the tampons. Hope I answered your question.

depends how bad your period is.. use a tampon. some people say once you get in the water, your flow will stop but trust me thats not true. its not like you'll dye the whole pool blood red, but it'll show.

either tampon or pantyliner if its not too bad

or just tan by the pool =)

I've heard that your period stops while you swim or take a shower... but it gets heavier when you get out.... If thats true... i guess thats saying it wont get color the pool but when u get out it'll color your bathing suit or whatever.... I suggest you use a tampon... so you dont have to worry about it

Wear a tampon. If you don't, your blood might be visible in the pool depending on how heavy your period is.

go ahead and swim all you want. the water pressure of the pool is much greater than your insides. the blood won't come out. but once you get out of the pool the blood will rush out. so just run to the ladies locker room.

you've gotten plenty of advice, but perhaps in the future you should try birth control to regulate your periods if you travel alot or swim. that way you can pretty much plan your periods. I stay on b.c. b/c it reduces my migraines to my dr. has me taking it year round except four times at year. (kind of like seasonale, except I'm on the patch). i have a pool so i swim frequently and the patch doesn't come off. as long as you are on the patch you won't have your period.

well..i agree with most of the other ppl.but if u cant wear a tampon..then ur best bet is to stay out..i got my period at great escape once..and i thought we were gunna stay the whole day at the waterpark...but we didnt...and it was horrible..i sat in the car..because 1) i was young...so i couldnt wear tampons 2) my mother didnt bring any pds wit her 3) my father wasnt leaving to go get me some..worst day of my life.
