it was going to be a total "rip off" of the events that are still permanently embedded in our minds of that day; Having lost an entire office of American Express friends that day, I actually forced myself to see it; Knowing Oliver Stones penchant for the dramatic, I was truly afraid to see it; However, found it to be a well thought out reenactment of the days events about 2 people rescued from the rubble (they were numbers 18 and 19 of 20 found alive); I would recommend it; actually gave me some odd sort of semi-closure...Comments? And remember, be kind....

By the way, all the profits from this movie are being donated to a WTC fund, so it's not your typical Hollywood hype, let's make a fast buck, type of movie!!!

Only 10% of the first 5 days profits are being donated. So Hollywood is still making a pretty penny. I'm glad you feel it was done appropriately but I feel more money should be going to charity.

Director Oliver Stone will donate 10 percent of new movie World Trade Center's first five-day profits to 9/11 charities.
Half of the money raised will be given to the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation, which is funding a $500 million memorial on the Manhattan site of the terrorist attack.

After families of 9/11 victims expressed concerns over his film project, Stone promised sensitivity and will split the remaining five percent of profits between three charities: Tuesday's Children, which helps youngsters who lost a parent in the tragedy; the Tribute WTC Visitor Center, due to open this summer; and the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund

That's Hollywood and that's life...making movies about history and 9-11 is history. I bet it's already being studied in high school....just like WW 1 and 2 and Vietnam and all the other wars. What gets me is why people are so surprised that movies are coming out about it. I think it's a good thing. And Oliver Stone told the story of these 2 men as it happend. I read an interview w/ him and he was asked why he didn't show the WTC being hit and he said ...b/c that' s not what these men saw. They didn't actually see the planes hitting the tower..so it wasn't in the movie. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I am definitley going to.

i don't see the point other than to get publicity or to make money. everyone and their brother saw the actual 9/11 attacks, either when it happened, later on TV or whatever. the best film of it was with that eastern europeon guy who was doing a film documentry with the NYFD. i really don't see how anyone can make something better than that, the real thing. WTC is different than shindlers list or a ww2 movie or a vietnam movie, even pearl harbor. hardly anyone was there to see it and the film imagines were not that impressive. unlike the 9/11 attacks. i think there should be a movie, but in the future, another 5 years from now. but i really hope that they donate all the profits to a charity, everyone, even the actors, no one should make money off of this tragedy.

Thats what i thought the movie would be like. I thought it would be about the day it happened and movie forward to whats happening today. I am totally behind on the news and clueless. As the ending approached i realized it wasnt even going to go there. I was dissappointed but realized how bad that day really was. I was only in 3rd grade when that happened and at school. While i was at school all that was happening.

I hope they make a movie like the way i wanted it to be one day. it would really help to the clueless ones like me

I didn't even know that there were survivors of 9/11. (I was in 6th grade when it happened)
Personally, I like that they made a movie about what happened. Its good not to forget and to know what others went through. The movies based on 9/11 show others perspectives and thats good to see when dealing with such a tragedy.

Personally I think it's stupid to make a movie about something so serious, it's not something people want to re-live. I mean what the hell is next, a movie about hurricane Katrina, or about Brian Nichols. I mean this is real life stuff and people making a movie about things so serious proves how idiotic Americans can be, and its insulting and it gives us a worse name than we already have.
