Yes, especially in the younger generations. People will beg, borrow and steal to get money. If values get in the way, they will run it over. Money is most peoples God and truly is the root of all evil....

Not at all. Money could never take over the value in our society because money has always been the value symbol that is the basis of our society. An industrial nation is literally fueled and founded on money. It's easy to call money evil, but the fact is that you simply cannot live in this society without it.
Unless you threw away your computer and your credit cards and already owned enough tax-free property to grow a nice vegetable garden and a few chickens.
And cotton so you could make clothes. Chicken-feather pants are itchy.

I don't have a problem with money.

"the common bond among men is not the exchange of suffering, but the exchange of goods. Money demands that you sell, not your weakness to men’s stupidity, but your talent to their reason; it demands that you buy, not the shoddiest they offer, but the best that your money can find. And when men live by trade..with reason…not force as their final arbiter … it is the best product that wins, the best performance, the man of best judgment and highest ability… and the degree of a man’s productiveness is the degree of his reward.”

“When money ceases to be the tool by which men deal with one another, then men become the tools of men. Blood, whips and guns….or dollars. Take your choice---there is no other.”

I'd choose money over whips and guns. Anyone who thinks there's no difference might need to learn the difference on his own hide.
