It is totally normal to be scared. I was very frightened about giving birth the first time too. On the way to hospital to deliver, I cried because I was so scared. PLEASE take everyone's opinion with a grain of salt....including the reality shows. Your birth experience will be unique and your own......no one can predict how it will go for you. My first time, I was done in less than 8 hours and no episiotomy. I did have an epidural but they the turned the meds off before I gave birth....It is painful, but it wasn't as bad as I feared. I was honestly more sore from straining to push than anything. Good luck, you'll do great!

Yes, it's normal to be terrified. Especially if you have only heard horror labor stories. I was in your place at one time. I can't say I was terrified of getting or being pregnant. Not at first. But as I got closer to my due date, I was definitely terrified. Well low and behold... I had such an easy birth. The only pain I had was a sharp pain in my back and stomach. The pain was no worse than having gas, lol. I sometimes think it was that easy for me because I was expecting the worse.

Of course it's normal. I now have a two month old, But when I was pregnant I was so nervous about childbirth. Between the epidural and the adrenaline rush you really don't concentrate on how it feels. Your gonna be concentrating on getting that little bundle of joy out of there. I won't lie when your pushing it's not pleasant, but honestly i hated being pregnant twice as much as the giving birth part. There's no way to really explain it, but after it all over you instantly feel better, and it's definitely worth while.

totally normal. Now, does it hurt? Not if you get the *really good* drugs! LOL!!! I have been pregnant 8 times: lost 3, delivered one by c-section, one at 9 pound plus wihtout medicine, 2 with a drug called Nubaine (dulls stuff, but it still hurts) and one that came far too early and had 2 epidurals that neither one works. Guess one tip is, if you get and epi, get a doc that doesn't wear pop-bottle bottom glasses and doesn't have to get within a centimeter of your back!!
LOL!!! Don't fear pregnancy. Yes it hurts, but truthfully, it's over soon enough and all is forgotten. Good luck!

yes it is completly normal. But take it from millions of other people in this world. It hurts like hell. And I haven't even had natural child birth. I was in labor for 10 hours with my son with no pain meds, and had to end up having a c-section. With my second one i had a planned c-section and with this next one OCT 3, i am having a planned c-section. SO no more labor for me. WOO HOO! But a c-section still hurts. I just can't give u advice on natural birth. I do know that it takes longer to recover from c-sections though and you are in the hospital longer.

Honey, if it didn't hurt, men would have the job.

And of course its normal to be afraid of pregnancy. You are young, and there is a lot about pregnancy you can never know until you go through it. Even then it's a one-of-a-kind experience, so no one can ever really understand, so it's hard to deal with even with the best support if you're unprepared.

pregnancy is a beautiful, wonderful thing. yeah it hurts but as soon and you hold your baby for the 1st time you forget all about it it would help to have someone there with you. i was 19 when i had my son and didn't have any one there, you need support from some one

good luck the pain is worth it!!

it hurts the worse part is over once the child is out...recovery hurts to thou "not nearly as bad as labor!". At 19 you got years to think about other things. People make it out to be worse then it is. It hurts it's bloody it's not pleasant you get past it move on. It can't be that bad women have done since time started. It's NATURAL what your body was MADE to do.

I have a friend who did not take any medication during childbirth. Of course it hurts, but apparantly there are women who experience a wide variety of things....some women even claim to have orgasm as they give birth. I have no idea if it is true, as I have never given birth myself, but check out the link.

Yes it does hurt but it's normal to feel anxious about it! I didn't have any pain medication with either of my kids and it actually goes quicker that way! You forget all about the pain when your baby comes out! I have had pain that was worse than childbirth so it's not the worst pain!
