palm treo 650--problems, compatibility, reviews?

I am going to buy a palm treo 650 most likely off craigslist. I will be putting my cingular sim card from my motorola v551 and am told by a guy at the cingular shop it should work, no activation nor contract fees.

Will any palm treo accept the cingular sim without issue? I hear that you need to unlock some if they are verizon or what not.

also, does the phone have crashes like I hear about, even if I don't install any 3rd party apps? Is the phone a good phone? what kind of setups do you guys have (added memory, etc.)

Yes, there can be some problems. Remember there are Treo 650's that are made for use for other carriers so make sure you buy a treo 650 made for Cingular.

If you bought Sprint's or Verizon's Treo 650 you would find that there is no place for a sim card. They don't use simcard technology, which means the phones CANT be unlocked for Cingular.

If you buy Tmobiles version of the Treo 650 you might be able to unlock since it uses simcard tech, but unlocking is not a guarantee or very likely. I wouldn' do it, unless you called Cingular tech support and specifically asked them if you could do for a phone that was made for Tmobiles service.

The phone has many features. It's one of best phones our there if your a realtor. Although there already is an updated version. It's called the Treo 700

all of the applications work except the phone app. It is impossible to send calls or to receive them. the dial pad is no more visible and inaccessible.Answering a call leads to closing the treo 650. the messaging app is the only way to join outside contacts for now. What shall I do?

try not hardship-free resetting it.To not hardship-free reset,carry the flexibility button after which press the reset button.After that a message look and say specific.till now you not hardship-free reset,back up your archives on your pc first by using fact once you not hardship-free reset all archives on your treo would be misplaced.If this would not resolve your subject carry it to the shop the place you obtain your Treo or deliver it to Palm Inc for maintenance.
