Now that Russia is broken up is it still bigger than Canada?

Russia isn't broken up you must be
thinking of the former Soviet Union
that Russia was part of.
Anyway Russia is over 17 million square Km
and Canada is about 9,970,000 millon sq Km

Russia is not broken, boy. The Soviet Union does not exist anymore ( Russian Federation was 1 of the 15 republics which were combined in Soviet Union). After 14 republics had separated, Russia still the same...

When comparing, be sure you use a map that doesn't exaggerate the northern areas. better yet, look on a globe.
Mercator projection maps are famous for exagerrating the spread in the north, so Greenland, for example, looks as big as Africa (which is bigger by a long shot!). They give a false impression that northern countries are bigger than they really are.
Even so, Russia should still be obviously bigger that the Great White North, eh?
