You can get Cable Internet almost anywhere you can get Cable TV, but you should check on it and see if it is fast. We've been through it all. We had a cable modem, but it was slow (only fast one way), then we went back to dial-up, then we went to Verizon DSL (which I would never recommend!), and then we now have a vastly improved Cable modem, but without the Cable TV. We have DirecTV (satellite)TV but did not get satellite Internet because I heard it was not very good. If you can't get a Cable modem, it might be worth checking into though. Verizon DSL worked fine for about a year, then it stopped working and they tried to pretend it was our fault for 2 weeks before I called to cancel them.

Check the web site of the internet provider. They all let you type in a zip code or even a street address and tell you if service is avaliable in that area.

as far as i know, directv uses satellite, cable tv/cable internet uses coaxial cables, not all areas got cable tv so not all areas got cable internet, and it doesnt also mean that there is cable internet if there is a cable tv...
try DSL, it's more reliable :)

DirecTV isn't real cable - it's satellite. You'll be able to get "broadband" from them, but it may not work very well.
