hey! i'm on my 4th day of camp and i'm doing quite well except for a few problem areas with sculling/vertical positions. when i'm in a vertical position, how are my hands/arms supposed to scull? do my palms face the bottom of the pool or the sky? lastly, i seem to be sinking a lot in the water, how can i make sure my legs are fully out of the water, and make them stay there?

the palms of your hands are supposed to face the sky, lock your fingers together and push you hands/ arms strongly inwards (the "inward" movement should be more powerfull then outward, otherwise you'll become more unstable and will move across the pool!). if you make slow but strong arm movements you will not only do it right and stand still, you will also stand higher in the water, you'll sink less easily. it's a nit difficult in the beginning, but practise makes perfect! hey, i could do it as well, so i'm sure you can learn it too!!!! :-)
