They are among the few that have a work ethic good enough to put in long hours...some 24/7. To own a store and be able to find honest help, let alone help that will show up on a Friday night for am 11pm to 7am shift...is difficult at best. Many of these operations are family owned-husbands, wives, in laws, etc. If us white folk were willing to work hard enough we'd be running the stores...

I've been told its because in India stores are much smaller than they are here and being a small shopkeeper is a common occupation over there. I guess going by that maybe it's because they want to stick to what they have experience in. Then again I'm sure not everyone in India owns a store who gets a 7-11 here so I don't really know.

They buy franchises as a family unit, and they all work the family business...these franchises you mention are some of the least expensive to get into... the wide spread usage of these chain stores is one reason they are popular with the family investment strategy...the already have a proven track record. No advertising is necessary

Because they come here and take jobs that no one else wants - Too many Americans would rather go on Welfare and let the govt support them then "lower themselves" to work for such places. At least they are willing to work, then they move up and eventually they own the store. And no I'm not foreign - very white.....just telling the truth...

Because they want to be involved AMERICANS!
BEING AN AMERICAN IS HARD WORK!!!
Please ask questions that AAARGH!
What do you think AMERICA is about!??!!?!?
You start off with what you have,
then either you go or your children go to higher educations.
This leads to opportunities and that leads to careers. Careers that serve the communities you live in!!
WHAT DO YOU THINK THE GREAT GRANDPARENTS OF AMERICANS CAME HERE FOR!?!?!? The Irish?, the Germans?, the English? Everyone that comes to AMERICA want jobs, to live, and send their children to schools, this leads to so many improvements I can't list them here. Please - LEARN ABOUT AMERICAS PAST - IT'S SUCH AN AMAZING STORY. Start at 1900, with Ellis island, then move to the present.

Not all are. Only some are, it really depends on who bought that franchisee, or in other words that store. Some are still corporate. But like some of the other stated it is low overhead to start, with LOTS of profit!
