where in the ear should a cartilage piercing be? does it have to be exactly on the edge or cannot it be sorta in the middle where u can clearly see it?

well....i got mine on the edge so when i dont want to wear the earring you wont see the lumpy part where the hole is....but you can get one on middle part...my friend got it and its pretty tight

It depends on the shape of your ear cartilage. Its sort of hard to explain without seeing your ear, and seeing how thick your ear cartilage is.
If you have more of a large fold, I think it looks better farther down the ear. If you have a tiny fold, I think it looks good higher up.
Also it depends where you have veins, because if you get it done properly they check for veins and if you have a vein in a certain spot, you may have to go higher or lower than where you originally wanted the piercing.

You also dont want it too far to the edge because if you have thin cartlage it can get ripped out easily.

Well from experience i can tell you that the piercing on the edge is way better because it is put in an angle that allows you do more things without hurting it. I used to have it in the middle but it was really uncomfortable because it really hurt when i slept (side sleeper) I now have it on the edge and its way better. I would advise you get it there.

You don't want it to much on the edge because if your brush your hair behind your ear you will bother the piercing. (Not to mention it hurts when you constantly hit it!) Also, depending on YOUR ears, if you put it too far on the edge you could cover it. So there would be no point.
