we want to start a family and her doctor recomends being off the pill at least 2 months before trying to get pregnant. So my question is at what time during a woman's monthly cycle is she most fertile? So these next 2 months I know when to be careful, and then when we need to pour it on.

For each woman it varies especially the first month or two coming off the pill her cycle will change and adjust. I use ovulation prediction kits which have 7 tests in a box to help you find your most fertile days. She will need to know how many days her cycle is first. She should start by counting from the first day of her last period (full day of a period not spotting) to the day before her next period. Around the mid-point is when she should ovulate, however some women don't ovulate every month which is why the OPKs are good and same with charting your basal temp.

Ask your wife how many days between periods? (Starting at the first day of the menstrual period to the first day of the next). That is the number of days in her cycle. Then ask her if she's regular every month? If she's on the pill or was, then chances are she probably is regular. Either a 21 or 28 day cycle. Once you know that you can usually figure 14 days prior to the start of the next period is when she is ovulating and can get pregnant. Plan sex for 1 day before and 4 days after that time. I don't think I'd "be careful" if I were ttc. Do it as much as you want anyway. Good Luck!

most fertile time is about half way between cycles. If your wife was regular you can figure it out that way. Webmd had a tool where you can put the dates in and it will give you a few day window where she will be most fertile. Also there are ovulation predictor kits you can get at the store which will tell you the days to go for it.

Well if your trying to get pregnant then you really don't want to lay off at all. I believe though I am not sure that it is usually 5-7 days before and after each menstrual period. But check with your doctor, find out when she, and you are the most fertile. And then mate like bunnies, lol. good luck

I know men are really opposed to using a condom because of feeling and all, but it would be worth it to be on the safe side for your project. On the other hand don't be suprised if it takes up to a year for her to even get pregnant,. It varies depending on how long she took the pill.
