Well, this is just my opinion, but saying that you love someone anyone can do that! You love your mom, you love your dog and you love your kids, but your not in love with them!
To me, being in love, is so different!
When you are in love with someone, you give them your heart, completely and totally!
You give them every part of your life and your soul! It is something that some times you can't explain but that you can feel! Being in love is something you do with your heart and not with your head! It is a strong and deep emotion connection, that only those two people can understand, it is like walking on air, without your feet even leaving the ground! It is like being completely transformed to another version of yourself! Being in love is happy and smiling and complete euphoria! If you are ever in love with someone, you would Know without a doubt! I hope that one day everyone can find that kind of love! Ah, but alas, I am the last of the hopeless romantics left in the world! I hope this helps! Good luck and God bless!

Explaining love is hard. You can't explain why you love someone. You can say they make you happy, you like their smile, they give you butterflies, etc. But if you take each of those things individually, they're not "love". That's why you can't explain it.
You can love someone but not be in love with them. True love is a feeling that you can't turn on and off but being in love simply means that the things that a person's heart need to complete them is not there. There's something lacking. They either want/need more from an individual to complete them. Your husband completes you because you're in love with him. I've been married twice. I still love my ex but I'm definitely not in love with him. My current husband I love to no end and I'm very much in love with him. Feelings are not all about the heart, they are about the mind and soul. Your soul needs to be fulfilled as well. If it's not, the empty feeling nags you and never lets go. You're in love when your soul is full. The feeling is undeniable. It can not be explained because everyone is different but when you have it, without being told, you will know.

I think he's trying to tell you something....don't you?
There's a difference between loving someone you're friends with and loving someone you're soulmates with. When you love your friend you care about them and what happens to them and they make you feel good when they're around and all of that but you don't feel it in your soul. Sounds like your husband is telling you he loves you but intuitively he knows you're not his soulmate. He can't prove it though, and his conscious mind tells him "but I do love her", so he's not in a position to do anything about it. Right now, there's nothing that can be done or even that needs to be done. IF he ever crosses paths with his soulmate (and IF he hasn't already)....he'll think "I knew it". But then he'll be torn because he doesn't want to hurt you and abandon his marriage. I'm not saying he'll leave you, either - might cheat though.
The same is true for you of course too and you know it. So for now, just live your life. IF the day ever comes...at least you'll know what happened. There's a reason the two of you were brought together. I say, let nature take it's course.

Being "in love" fades with time. It's an unrealistic emotional high.
Now "love"...that "in sickness and in health" part...that's what's really important. Those are the people who don't cheat, who stay with you when you're ill, who will love you when you're old and gray and wrinkly, and put up with you when you're cranky.
What you need to find out, is if he loves you THAT way. The rest is just semantics.
