If there was one thing you could change about America what would it be?

I wish we could get back to the principles of democracy. I wish that every last congressman, aid, staffer, cabinent member, lobbyist, etc. would be removed from office so that we could start over and get people in office that still care about the people they represent. Everyone must go so the system that is currently in place can be rebooted, so to speak. Along with that, I wish that there would be very limited interaction between the big corporations and the government itself. Sometimes it feels like corporate America has hijacked our government. It seems that by the time anyone gets high enough in our government to make a difference they have already sold their souls to lobbyists and special interest groups. Not to mention the wink, wink/nudge, nudge dealings that occur daily between members of the government. An idealistic individual who actually gets high up with his soul and morality intact is put in his/her place by other more established members of government. They then either play ball and lose themselves or they simple are blocked at every turn and cant make any real and lasting change. So I would wish that our government could start over without riots, attacks from or enemies, etc. and the government could work for the people.

Well, I think that because our country is so large, there are a lot of people here who never travel to other countries. I think that experiencing other cultures helps us see ourselves better, through more objective eyes. I think if I could change one thing about our country, I would like to see our citizens develop a more worldly, less self-centered view of the world. One way to accomplish this would be by cultural exchange and more travel.

Despite what I have said and having traveled quite a bit, I still am proud to be an American and think we have the greatest country in the world!

I would do away with all income and payroll taxes, let people keep what they earn. I'd use a standard national sales tax to finance the government.

That eliminate the IRS and do away with taxes as a means to attempt social engineering.

I'd get the "Fair Tax" proposal passed and repeal income tax for good.

I would do like King Soloman(pbuh) did.Take away all of the money from the peoples and have them focus on THE MOST HIGH.The earth can provide what you really need.Food, clothing , and shelter.If not earth, then your brethren of kith and kin.That was a great king.And he had a great father.King David(pbuh).

More tolerance. I think America is missing more tolerance for people who live a different lifestyle than you , has a different religion than you, or whose family doesn't fit your idea of what a family is. How can we even think of achieving world peace and trying to end poverty if we don't even bother to try to get along?

i would lock down the borders, nationalize the immigrants so they could pay taxes as well, then change answering machines to press one for any other language than english, then make teachers teach instead of whine about their pay !
