Why should they have their rights taken away? It's not a matter of granting them. If it is a right, they already have it. Also depends on what rights you're talking about. Constitutional rights? These rights are constitutionally guaranteed. They cannot be taken away. What other rights could you mean? The right to marry? That's not a right until it's made legal (speaking of U.S.), but I don't see why it shouldn't be.

You wouldn't be asking if their rights should be granted, unless at some level you realize that they are being denied. America's greatness and uniqueness among civilizations is based upon the premise that all citizens under the aegis of our law come into this world with their rights fully intact, and that these rights are: a) granted by the very source of life, b) are inalienable (man does not give them, nor does man have the authority to deny them), and c) that these rights are as vital to a human being and to the health of our nation as the air we breathe. There is nothing "special" about rights, such as those relating to life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness. Ask yourself, if I were in the other human beings place, how would I want to be treated. BTW, being gay is NOT a choice nor a lifestyle--it is a birthright.

Every human being should be granted their rights. I believe most Countries have already done so but since I am not in the position to really know, I can not say for sure. I know in Canada gays can marry and the Human Rights Act takes care of people with disabilities but I can not speak for the entire world. Unfortunately, tolerance should be included with the rights of others but it is very hard to enforce.

What rights are they not granted? Minorities and gays seem to have more rights then straights and defiantly White males.

If you refer to marriages, you are not given the right for it because it has not been socially accepted by this country and not considered something that should be accepted. I do not disagree. There is something that gays can have, but they want to take over marriages. Force their lifestyle on me and my children, What happened to my rights to not have to deal with it??

Do you mean:should they have "special rights" (gays that is) NO!!!!!!! Every minority has the same right to "LIFE, LIBERTY , ANDTHE PERSUIT OF HAPPINESS" Lifestyles DO NOT!! Sodom and Gammora they had the right to straighten up ,find a few "normal decent folks" or face destruction. Well if you read your bible you will see WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM!!! So why should the good ol' USA go the way of S. and G. cause a very small minority think they deserve "special rights" HELL NO!!!!

Everyone should be given equal rights under the law, it's in our Constitution which reads "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." That means everyone, no matter what.

Our country has had a lot of growing pains to enforce those rights for everyone including; the Civil War, the Civil Rights movement, the Womens' Suffrage Movement. Not always our finest hour because during those times their were plenty of people who stood up and said certain people don't deserve the same rights as everyone else. History has judged harshly people who spoke out against the rights of Americans and I think history will judge harshly the people who are speaking out against equal rights for Gay Americans too.

Did you know that at one time in this country it was against the law for African-Americans to marry? I don't mean to marry whites, I mean to get married at all, ever, to anyone. Not exactly our proudest moment in this country. I think most Americans look back on that period of history as shameful and I think the same will be said when people look back at a time that denied rights to Americans just because of their sexual orientation.

I'm not sure what you mean by their rights, especially in regard to racial minorities in the United States. Regarding gays, I think it is unconstitutional to prevent them from getting married. There are people right now who are scared to death that their constitutional right to own a gun is under attack, but they don't give a damn if the constitutional rights of another part of the population are being 100% denied.

Be granted their rights? What are you talking about? Minorities are a protected group under the Equal Protection clause of the 14th Amendment and the Due Process clause of the 5th Amendment. Homosexual people have rights that are protected under the substantive due process clause of the 5th and 14th Amendments.

Since when did gays become a minority? No offensive but that is a lifestyle CHOICE, it should be treated as such. Can I be a minority now, I think I am going to be part of the stoner minority, maybe if we complain enough we can get rights too!

Marriage is not a right. It is the union of a man and a woman with intent to produce offspring. Marriage from the beginning has been a way to insure that the people would not inbreed by keeping brothers and sisters so close that by the time they are of mating age they can't stand each other. ;)
