I switched the transmission(automatic) to the Mobil 1 ATF, and it is GREAT Stuff! If you do the tranny service, make sure you get a new seal for the pan and a tranny filter!

If it is a manual, then change to the Mobil 1 75W-90

DELO 400 15W-40 is the BEST oil for you car!

Dump 1 quart of regular ATF in your gas(yes, the gas tank because it keeps the injectors clean)

Also for RIGHT NOW, go to Chevron, and buy a BIG bottle of Techron(costs about $10 bucks). It will clean the junk off your intake valves and injectors!

Good Luck!

Transmission you can adjust yourself, trace the cable that goes from tranny and connects to the mechanism bolted on top of your valve cover, loosening or tightening cable will make the differense on how transmission shifts.Making it shift on higher rpm's will get you little more performance. On the engine all you can do is set your timing ahead, if the car got some miles on it, it may be even nessesary due to stretching of the timing chain and high pressure pump worn. Good luck!

Nothing you can do for performance or the transmission. It's hopeless. You might try shifting manually through the gears...this helps a lot actually.

If you want a faster Benz, trade it in and get a 300 Turbo Diesel.

300D was not made for performance. You *could* get a turbo model, but retrofit will be economically unfeasible.

No, there is no performance parts for the engine.

You can get the modulator pressure adjusted for smoother shift. It WILL shift rather harshly by today's standard....

If in fairly good condition the car is worth about $3500. Time to unload, and get something else.
