We are going into a new election year, and at the moment we face a divided America!

Both sides considered, You have anti-war candidates and pro-war candidates!

You have Christian candidates and non-Christian candidates!
Will this lead to a civil battle in America?, seeing that we are divided!
I'm SERIOUS! This is important!!!!

Yes, we are.

JP suggested that there will be no civil war because the anti-war proponents won't fight.

This is hopelessly naive. There will be war even if the dissenters won't fight - they'll simply be massacred. The pro-war proponents will take over and either kill the surviving dissenters or put them in labor camps.

Evidently even the promoters of wars in foreign countries wear rose-colored glasses when it comes to wars in the U.S.

Notice how the other responders say there won't be a war but still blame the other side for the country's troubles?

They don't even see what they're doing.

There will be war, all right. How can we not have one, when the people are blind to their own prejudices?

No it will not lead to civil war. If the democrats get in, they will tax the hell out of everything that moves, the gas prices will NOT go down and more Americans will be put as risk for terrorism. Then those that are screaming now about bush will wish like hell they had him back. We go through this all time. The more the socialist take over the democrat party the meaner both side get. I'm fighting to keep my country free.

It would be ironic for an anti-war candidate to recommend shooting a pro-war candidate. That would kind of defeat the purpose, wouldn't it? While we have our differences, I seriously doubt that Americans will take up arms against one another.

Civil wars are fought when the ideologies are divided along geographical lines. It seems to me that the pockets of sanity in America are scattered at random. So no, there will be no bloodshed, just more whining. Lots and lots more whining.

No this happens all the time. You are just more aware of it it now. There is a ugly constent battle between parties. Especially when it gets close to an election year.

It won't lead to a civil war, because the anti-war candidates won't fight. That would be hypocritical.

NO.... we will not... we as a country are way to close and if we went into civil war ... it would be bad... their is more people with guns in the woods on opening day of buck in Pennsylvania than some countries have armies.... so if we did..... it would be bad

We've been divided 50/50 for many many years, this isn't going to change it. Also, there isn't anything that I can see that would actually lead to battle besides arguing.

It may have a different face with different methods, like:

1)Watch for the crime rate to rise if economy keeps dropping.

2)Watch for the middle class to begin to deteriate.

3)Watch for more people begging at stop lights.

4)Watch for riots at sporting events

5)Watch for 'sad songs' to make the top of pop charts

6) Watch for major ouster in elections of incumbants races

7)etc,etc

These are things that could set the tone for Revolution, and its not necessarily bad, thats how societies grow.
