How old were you, and what were the circumstances, the first time you ever?

And what was it?

My uncle gave me my first rum and coke at his wedding when I was fourteen, and it's been my favorite ever since, with tequila being a close second.

How about everyone else?

I think i was 12. It was Chinese New Year and we were celebrating with some friends/relatives (i can't remember) over at our house . I asked my mom if i could have a sip of beer from her can and she said Sure ! I took 1 sip and *bleah* ! *yuk* ! LOL :).

I am definitely not a drinker. In fact, i'm so bad at drinking that recently, i tried 1 margarita , just for fun, when i was on holiday, and i suffered a god awful headache the whole nite !

(I feel like the only 1 in the world who does not smoke & drink sometimes...sigh)

i was 15.
the bf of my best friend's mother bought it for us. *yeah i know contributing to minors..oh well it was long ago*

he bought us a bottle of strawberry hill. it was okay...but then i had my first beer a yr. later at a party. then when i was 21 i tried hard liquor.
my fav is Crown and coke, and straight Jack Daniels.
i don't drink often..and a few drinks every now and then doesn't hurt so ignore that first poster! i also find it a bit hilarious that someone with a NIC name like DOPE BOY is lecturing you on whether or not drinking is healthy!
I'm not an alcoholic...and even doctors say a glass of wine a day helps with circulation and what not..there are studies on it...you could google it.
i hate wine..but every now and then a cocktail or a good ol beer is great with dinner.

My aunt (my mom's cooler, younger sister) bought me a beer when her, myself, and two other of my younger relatives were having dinner in NYC. I was 16.

However, I didn't get drunk for the first time until college, and didn't get falling-down wasted until age 25 or so (when I'd down everything anyone handed me at a party). A few years later, I'd puked my guts out enough times to feel like I could move on from that phase. Now I just drink socially -- usually beer or wine.

I don't remember, but my aunt told me that my mom put beer in my bottle to put me to sleep. I hate the taste of that stuff, how could she do that to me.

My first drink I took on my own was tequila though. Me and my big brother and cousin were playing true or dare on night. We were supposed to be babysitting our little cousins. I was 12, my bro 13, my cuz 14. I dared my brother to knock on the neighbors door, naked, and ask for a cup of sugar. As pay back he dared me to drink half of the bottle of Cuervo. It was a fifth. I have been hooked on that stuff ever since.

my dad let me taste beer probably around age 7. I was too young to remember exact age but then I didn't take another drink until about age 16 on my own. Mixed drinks probably had tastes of as a teenager at weddings as well but not sure. Prefer mixed drinks now but drink them too fast so I usually drink beer.

My first time w/ alcohol was a drink of a beer from my step-dad when I was 3 years old, all I can say is if you liked it from first try your hooked, my sister on other hand, she didn't like it and told mom getting us in trouble. To each there own, I always say.

I was about 5 or 6 when I drank the watery remnants of my mom's whisky sour during a party at my parents' house. It was not one of my finer moments.

I was around 15 i think and i was at a party with friends..and yes..i cracked under peer pressure and took my first drink of beer..but it was so nasty that i never drank beer again..now wine..that's another story
