Would you like to pay an extra 2 dollars in labor costs for that "luxury"? You know years ago, the shoe salesman would do that, probably still happens in your finer stores.

I've heard several reasons and have no idea which is/are the actual one/s. Some people say that since there are so many different ways to lace shoes, the manufacturers and/or stores choose to let you lace them the way you prefer. Some people think shoes would be easier to steal if already laced. Others say it would take too much time for the employees at the store or the factory to lace all the shoes. Some people also prefer to use custom laces.

There could be many answers to this. Me, I prefer shoes with no laces and then you don't have to bother with them at all.

I would think it's because people tighten or loosen up their laces different and they want you to be able to try them on easier!
