Actually, I think that's a good question. No, really I mean that without irony.
I've known a lot of Democrats and I think one of the traits that has defined them all is their intellectual curiousity. That means they want to learn more about the world we live in, they care about something outside of and beyond themselves and they do genuinely want to make things better. To a man (or woman) the Democrats I've known have a thirst for knowledge and do want to learn more across a wide spectrum of topics. Now does living your life like that make you smarter? Yeah, I think so. Democrats haven't cornered the market on the pursuit of knowledge but personally, they are the only ones I know who seem to care while most Republicans I've had the pleasure of knowing seem content to remain Philistines. (yeah I know, look it up)

I'm going to have to say its because most Democrats are from the coasts. Whereas the good Christian Republicans all come from Central and South USA.

I think there are a lot of very smart people in both parties. You can't tell it by some that you see on here though.

lol the democrats actually give good anwsers to questions and usually have good ideas..but then the republicans have amazing comebacks like "Democrats are stupid" and apparently it works most of the time
