How did you know I don't know how to tie my shoes properly?

Hardly, but the men do have trouble tying a neck tie and the women all seem to buy panties that are too big and they slip to their knees on occasion. But I haven't observed any untied shoes.

Actually, most geniuses are just like everyone else. They may have weaknesses, but so do we. The few I've known were just as normal as I am, but that's not saying a lot. Hope you get some answers to prove your theory. It's reputed that some geniuses don't have much sense when it comes to money, but that's hardly a fault just of geniuses.

Einstein had a closet full of suits all the same. He did not want to have to expend the time deciding which one to wear. At least one was always pressed and ready to wear. It was not a matter of common sense, it was a matter of time. That is the one commodity we never have enough of. He realized this and priortized his life accordingly. His brain was kept in a jar. It was found that his brain was not larger, but it held a far greater amount of supporting tissue than most brains. He could tie his own shoes, but why bother when you can wear slip ons?

It does feel like a lot of geniuses don't seem to have a lick of common sense. You're less likely to notice a genius with common sense, because he doesn't look awkward, and he knows how to function in society. You generally only notice the ones who don't "blend with the crowd" very well.

My youngest son is 19, and he honestly goes barefoot because he cannot tie shoes. It's only one of about a million ways he sticks out and doesn't blend in with his classmates. But he's fluent in four languages and finished high school math in the sixth grade, and his school changed the dress code after he did a research project on the health benefits of bare feet.

I was 8 years old before I learned to tie my own shoes. At the age of 4 I could read.
I am not a genius but simply someone who was channeling her energies into more important things like reading the cartoons in my uncles Playboys.

i have always actually had a problem tying my shoes. never learned the right way. although common sense isnt my strongest point, i have always had high math skills. can do problems in my head real quick. plus a very mature level. not really pattin myself on the back. i never used my math skills to a financial advantage and im currently in the middle of a divorce from my wife. so it doesnt always pay. lol you can be extremely good at math yet still not properly tie your shoes!!!

Not true, I tie mine just fine. Although I keep crossing the line between genius and insanity. I do that at least 6 times a year.

It helps regular people sleep better at night to think that folks with extremely high IQs are functionally incompetent and complete social messes. Very high intelligence comes with a price, but not that price.
