My mother won't let me shave my legs. Or at least a year a go she didn't! I am in the middle of Junior High, and I want to wear skirts with out leggings. I don't know how to talk to her because I don't know what to say and I really don't feel comfortable asking her. Is it not healthy to not shave your legs at twelve? I just need a lot of answers! Girls help!

The same thing happened for me. My mom was all like your going to stop when you start and your legs are going to be terrible. Or your going to die(where did she get that from?)

Lol, what I did is that I went to www.veet.com and I read about their products. Or google razor brands that you know of.

I preffer Veet over shaving because veet you have to do it once a week, and even when your hair grows back no one can really tell(its awesome). What you really need to do is to calmy tell your thoughts on shaving your legs, and if you can impress her with all you knowledge of this stuff, chances are is that shes going to give in sooner or later.

Girl I know what your going through. My mother would not let me shave my legs until I was 13. It feels horrible I know. Just tell her that you feel very uncomfortable wearing dresses or shorts because you cannot shave. Try to discuss that with her. If that doesn't work. She may be afraid that you will cut yourself. If that is the case see if she will show you how to shave your legs and supervise you. If not see if she will let one of your cousins or maybe a friend of the same sex shave your legs for you. If not you may have to shave your legs at one of your friends house without your mother knowing.

okay well i started shaving myself when i was 11, almost 12. we were just in Target around the beauty section and i got the razor and shaving cream(skintimate) and walked up to the cart, put it in and said to my mom " i need to shave my legs, thanks!" of course i was buying like my first real bra that day so she was like " oh i dont know about all this" but she bought it and i have been shaving my legs since then. (im almost 13). just talk to your mom if it means that much to you and the next time your in a store like CVS, Target, or whatever, go to the beauty section, get what you need and she'll buy it. but i dont suggest mentioning your friends. she' might think you are doing it because everyone else is doing it- which you probably are- but just be like " i dont feel comfortable walking around with hairy legs" maybe make a joke about it so it lightens up the situation. okay hope it helps!

It is fine to shave your legs at 12. I started when I was 11 and have had no problems. I don't think that there could be any way of it hurting you, unless of course you cut yourself. Talk to your mother. I bet she will be understanding if you approach her in a calm manner. Be open to what she says and stay calm. She may still say no but it won't be because you weren't nice. Good luck.

I'm twelve too. It is perfectly healthy. I started shaving in fourth grade! My friend recently started shaving, all you have to do is confront your mom and tell her straightforward. Give her some really good reasons and tell her how hairy legs make you feel.
hope that helped

my mom didn't let me shave either, actually she doesn't even care now. When i was in middle school, i just bought a razor and shaved, my mom never really noticed. My friend did the same thing, except right after she shaved she told her mom and her mom was mad, but eventually got over it.
Maybe you should just shave and see what happens, Be Rebellious!

ugh ok im 13 and i never had that sitch but tell her if shes worried that ur gonna cut and hurt urself, then tell her that u can use hair removers such as nair and veet. i dont suppose shes gonna let u wax. tell her leggings irritate ur skin (fake red skin after taking them off and show her). and if she says u should just wear jeans then tell her they are often hot and stuffy for u. anyways if ur in 7th grade girl i was there last year if u wear too many minis ur counted as a slut so dont wear too many. o and also i hope if works for u cuz if u have a pe uniform w/ shorts then its really bad cuz ppls actually stare
