An intern is someone who is learning a new job or profession by working for the company in the type of field they'd like to work in. Sometimes they get paid, but often times it's a free internship. My roommate is getting $15 an hour this summer to intern at an accounting firm though so you can do very good interning in the right professions. You can become an intern by expressing interest in doing so by companies offering internships or often times do it through your college campus or school.
