I think they're so much fun. I'm a Christian and I never had a problem with them even though a lot of people shot them down because they are about witchcraft. It's not something I take seriously, it's just a really fun series to read. They are very clever, fun books and I thought the story and the ideas were original, refreshing and fun when the first one came out. I was hooked from then on! I don't know why it was so controversial, kids grow up watching and reading about things that aren't true - fairy tales and magic and what not, so what is so different about Harry Potter? The fairy Godmother in Cinderella has a magic wand and goes around changing plain things into beautiful things. That kind of stuff was already EVERYWHERE in the things young people watched and read. The Harry Potter series is great for younger and older readers. They are just fun!

They are very interesting...Harry potter brings out the kid, which loves and longs for magic, in everyone...If adults are also unable to put the book down, then I guess there must be something about the book that captures the heart of readers...which is MAGIC...Though I am not into Harry Potter, I do read the series and I appreciate the book...This book, though the controversy involving christianity came up, should receive recognition for capturing millions of hearts around the world!

The books are more insightful then the movies and contain alot more content and explain the movies in more detail then what you pick up from the movie. I highly recommend all harry potter books- their a good read- and if you like harry potter I also recommend Eragon! Another fablous book read must!

I admit to having some interest in the Potter books and films. But as Potter's fame (along with author/creator J.K. Rowling) skyrocketed, I lost interest completely; the Potter thing just got too successful for my attention---and $$$$ buying books and attending films.

They've been good, except for the one that had the gossip writer in it. That one seemed to drag with a lot of nonsense which seemed designed to make the story longer, rather than to add anything positive to it. Other than that, they're almost impossible to set down once you begin reading. I only hope the last one is good, not a death sentence for the main character. Nothing worse than a inappropriately stupid ending to a series.

JK can create more suspense and plot development than any 1 1/2 long movie will ever be able to fit in. Sometimes it seems like she's rushing the plot to finish the story, though...

Well, they're about these three kids in England who are at this weird school and they get in a lot of trouble and fight a lot of dragons and stuff and the good guys usually win but you are supposed to think that sooner or later one or two of them will die. And they made some movies out of the books and the author made a lot of money. That's about it, I guess.
