Me and my friend and some other people were in my neighborhood playing air soft, and then we moved over to my nieghbors driveway where their mailbox was because it was shady.
Well later we moved down the hill toward my house to play since it is level in my yard. Well, the mail came, and then my neighbor gets a package she ordered that was vanalized.
I remember it was wierd cause it took the mailman a long time to complete his rounds.
So now she filed a police report saying she saw us out there, and that she thinks we did it. even tho she didnt "see us do it".
And then this detective is going to come, and interview my friend, and if she doesnt believe him, HE CAN GO TO JUEVY!!!
can they seriously send him to juevy with out any proof or anything???

yeah our parents are involved.
yeah i dont know if they asked the mailman or not but thats what i suggested.
but in the crappy town i live in the detectives probably suck and couldnt care less.
and also im not rich so i cant get a lawyer idk about them.

Why would she be singling out your friend? You say there were several of you playing.
A detective is coming out because a police report HAS to be investigated and tampering with mail is a Federal offense. If all of you can honestly say that none of you touched her mailbox, then nothing will come of it. They'd have to get an eye-witness that says they saw someone reach in, pull the package out and mess with it. Or they'd have to have fingerprints on the package. Or they'd have to find someone else's mail in his house/garbage can.
The mail carrier will also be interviewed to ask what the condition the pkg was at the time it was delivered and if he/she had any difficulty in placing the pkg in her mailbox.
I'd say don't sweat it until the investigation is complete. But take it as a lesson. Don't go onto anyone property without their permission and stay AWAY from any personal property.

Stick with your story,you didn't do it. Get your parents involved! Get them to dust for finger prints. Look for a witness who saw the mailbox was messed up before hand. Call the postaloffice to verify this. Check with the post office they some times damage parcel, they are suppose to report it,lazy ones don't .

i don't think they can unless they have proof that this has happened. fingerprints, pictures, or stuff like that i think it will be ok don't worry yourself to much
