Helping my brother live knowing that our father hated him and loved me because I'm a girl. Then letting his new wife slap us around while he watched and did nothing, lol, good dad, huh?
Then I had to accept a new father figure when my mom remarried. I have nothing against him, he's a great guy and I respect him, I just can't accecpt having a father figure in my life. I don't think I'll ever be able to accept anyone as a "dad".

Moving out and dealing with reality. I was a sheltered kid and after I moved out and had to deal with the real world I freaked out. I was in shock, but now I am OK (I found a great wife and finished my degree). Life's been good to me so far....

Growing up as the only White girl in an all Latino neighborhood. It can be hard having to always explain who and what you are. I do not dress or act like any of them, so they question me a lot.

Fatherhood..I became responsible for 2 lives, their well being, their character, everything. They are great kids, 24-17 and I hope they remember that we grew up together and that they were the most important and the best parts of me. I love them dearly.
