My son is 3 months and has been constipated for several days so the pediatrician said give him a suppositorie well my roomate did it and she stuck it in and left it in there and within 5 minutes he started to have a BM. Well now since then everything that comes out of his diaper is liquid he has went 2 times yesterday and 3 times today and normally he only goes once ever other day. So I was wondering well one was she suppose to insert the laxative and leave it in or pull it out and two is it normal that he is not having normal BM it is all liquid? It has been 2 days since I gave it to him.

To reply to your question I was going to do it and she wanted to she helps me out a lot cause my husband is in the army and I am the only who around for the time being. We did read the directions and it did not really say all it said was insert for 15 mintues never said leave in never said pull out.

When my babies were small like him we used the suppositories
to but the way I did it was put it in about half way or so hold it there yourself. The bm will try to push it out but keeping holding
it in half way then all of a sudden he will get relieved. Yes it is
messy that way getting you hands nasty but he will sure fill better. And yes there bm"s were liquid to for a couple of
days. Just make sure he is getting plenty of water. The drug store I guess could even tell you if to take him in to the doctor.God Bless him an good luck!!!

Our daughter was constipated for months. We had to use the suppositories on her and give her prune juice (as directed by our pediatrician) from the time she was about 3 months old until she started solids at 6 months. Since she's been on solids, she's been regular.
We used Fleet children's suppositories, sliced in half long ways. Everytime we used them, they came out on their own with her bowel movement....everytime without fail. If it hasn't come out yet, contact your pediatrician immediately. If he's been having liquid movements for two days, that is another reason to contact your pediatrician.
Good luck, I hope your little guy feels better soon.

Since your son is only 3 months old and has been going all liquid for 2 days, I advise you to please take him to the pediatrician. Young babies can become quickly dehydrated when losing liquids from diarrhea. Did the doctor give you the suppository to use? Or a prescription for one? Adult and child doses are different.
Also, a baby at 3 months if you are not breast feeding should be having at least 1 bowl movement per day. Along with several wet diapers. If your son is only going every other day, I would also check with your Pediatrician. If you are breastfeeding he should be having small bowl movements several times per day.
Here is a link for checking dehydration symptoms for baby;

Please take your baby to the doctor. Blessing and health.

Glycerin suppositories contain nothing harmful. It acts as a stimulus. Has your child had a lot of fluids since? I will say this: none of us on here are doctors, and even if we were, I would say it is best to have your child looked at by his own physician. I would call the office as soon as you can; as dehydration can occur in infants quickly. Don't worry about it; just call the office and make an appointment. Make sure he gets plenty of fluids and eats regularly until then.
And please, take care of your own child instead of letting other people other than your doctor do it. And do not give anything advised on here until you check with his pediatrician.

1. Yes it was supposed to stay in until it came out naturally with the bm.
2. no all liquid stools not normal take him back to doctor. He could have a blockage that is higher up in the bowels.
3. Dr. pepper works for me or prune juice some flat DR.P in a bottle or the prune juice wouldn't hurt. Orange juice is okay too.

First off, why didnt you read the directions and do it yourself. just curious as to why your room mate did it. And it'll say on the directions weather or not she was suppose to leave it in.
Sounds like he has a case of diarrhea now. Keep an eye on that, infants get dehydrated very easily, and could cause SERIOUS problems.
