Of course, Twitch. I am sorry I was not clear enough : whether we think we provide ourselves our good living, the reality is that it does matter a lot of the country you live in and the opportunities you may come across.

The separation of powers and the Swift punishment on the violators of the law, that is the difference, we are still behind on that, but not as much as others countries

Some countries are set up to encourage growth. There are some countries that punish it. For example a communist country may only pay you $100 for a field of corn whether you grew 40 or 1000 bushels off that field. There is no incentive to do better.

How come some inhabitants have to provide a good living for the rest of their country? Shouldn't that be our own responsibility, unless disabled, to provide our OWN living?

Remember JFK, ask not what your country can do for you?

These answers suck. It is moral corruption leading to poverty. And by poverty I don't mean some poor bastard that doesn't have a job. I mean the lifestyle of poverty where you have 8 kids you can't support, you smoke and sell crack all day and are a criminal requiring society to build a prison to cage you in instead of helping to put a kid thru college or repaving streets. Anyone who says it's the rich stealing from the poor is either a mental patient or hopelessly naive.

They believe in all of the people as part of their Country, America is under a guise political system driven by the greed driven Right. I pray America will release it's self from this travesty soon...Lieberman's vote showed America how we really feel about the leadership, it was the eye opener.

I think it's about culture and expectation. In most of these countries, the taxes are very high. But they get more services than we are used to. They also don't feel entitled to as much as we do. It's all relative.
