Are elephants really afraid of mice?if so
why?

No, this is a myth. If an elephant were to encounter a mouse, it would likely ignore it. If the elephant was bored, it might try to crush a mouse with its foot!

My guess is that one time, an elephant was spooked by the sudden movement of a mouse in the undergrowth or in tree, and the observer thought how odd that something so big could be afraid of something so small.

But you know, even if you have no fear of mice, they can still startle you if they suddenly shoot out of hiding. And an elephant is just as sensitive as a human.

I reckon the myth was spread from that one observation.

No, as far as i know elephants and mice get along quite well

No............ elephants are not afraid of mice.... it's just a myth that
mice will go up the elephants trunk.....

I'm not sure if it's that they are really afraid of mice, like if you took a mouse up to its face, or if they just have a reflex to be fearful and run from something small scurrying on the ground next to them. Like we have that reflex to avoid snakes.

I don't think an elephant would even know if a mouse was around. It would probably step on it and not even know.

No, theya ren't.. its jsut a cartoon myth.. they tookt eh largest creature they codl in todyas world and matched it with one of the smallest fro comic relief.... worsk great int eh cartoon world!
