Well under a $100 you have lots of choices on the strip and more downtown.
Lets look at downtown, if you plan on a stay from Sunday-Thursday the prices rage from $39 on up many in the $59 range, however most are 2 star ratings, the golden nugget is a 4 star and it is at $89 per night.
Now on the strip for Sunday-Thursday prices will vary depending the location. The stratosphere starts at $41 with a 3 star rating going down the strip is circus circus and riviera both 3 star and around $55, the center strip is the best area and these will cost more. Monte Carlo runs about $102 and is rated 3 star.
MGM, Paris, ballys, luxor, treasure island, are all 4 star and start around $130 per night.
Now if you plan on any weekend night like Friday-Sunday add about 30-40%
Remember you will need to add room tax, phone fee and I believe some of the hotels charge a water usage tax.
Figure $8-$12 per night. for a nicer hotel.
Now all of that said, I would recommend treasure island or harrahs, these will still cost but not as much for the location.
Try these sights:

I find that southwest has some of the best package deals to las vegas
I hope this helps you.
Enjoy and have fun

Try the Monte Carlo. That is where Lance Burton's theater is located....a great show by the way. Reasonably priced and in a good location...good access to NewYork, New York-Paris, TI etc.

The three I would recomend would be Ballys, Flamingo, or Imperial Palace. All have a gret location and weekdays are easy on the pocket book. They all have a center strip location which is a definate plus.

I stayed at the Stratoshpere.. fantastic casino and enormous pool. A bit far down the strip but there is a trolley bus and for about $2 it will take you from one end of the strip to the other, but it takes a long time,

Monte Carlo. Parking lot is very near the lobby. Don't need to drive to do stuff. Lots of great places nearby.
Other hotels make you walk a mile from parking to the lobby and another mile to your room.

STAYING DOWNTOWN IS SO MUCH CHEAPER. PLUS THE HOTELS HAVE ALL BEEN REDECORATED . LAST TIME I WENT I STAYED IN A BEAUTIFUL SUITE FOR THE SAME COST AS A REG ROOM ON THE STRIP. IF YOU GAMBLE THEY SAY DOWNTOWN HAS BETTER ODDS. BEST STEAK HOUSE IS LOCATED DOWN SOME STAIRS AND I BELIEVE ITS CALLED THE HORSESHOE. (PRICES ALMOST AS GOOD AS THE STEAK). MAKE ARRANGEMENTS IN ADVANCE AND YOU NAME YOUR OWN PRICE OR CALL & JUST ACT LIKE YOU ARE SECETARY MAKING ARRANGEMENTS FOR YOUR BIG WIG BOSS. TIP OT TRICK TO GET A SUITE, ONCE U GET IN YOUR ROOM IMMEDIADLY CALL DOWNSTAIRS AND LET THEM KNOW ROOM IS NOT TO YOUR SATISFACTION, DIRTY OR SMELLS. THATS HOW WE GET SUITES. HAVE FUN
