who doesn't? we all want to be something great well most of us

Yes. in my case, it is more than a feeling. I had a rather profound vision where my eventual destination was laid out very clearly. It's the only vision I have ever had, and I was able to see things while I was wide awake, even though I have no history of hallucination.

But at the moment, I am more interested in you, and the reason that you might have asked this question. It is true that the calling on our life is often much greater than the role we find ourselves playing. We don't set out to be less than optimum, we just tend to get worn down by seeming "realities" of life.

Do you have dreams that remain unfulfilled? You simply must take the time to nurture these dreams, and apply the constant effort required to make it so. Why? Ask any old person that is no longer able to make a fresh start or begin a new project. They will tell you very frankly of the dreams that slipped away, and are now completely irretrievable.

What is your greatest dream? What are you willing to sacrifice to see that it comes to pass? I hope this very evening you begin to plan for a future that includes the fulfillment of your heart's desire. When the people around you realize that you mean business, they will eventually support your efforts, so be patient.

Good luck and God bless you as your dreams become reality!

Let me answer that question with another one...

Is your glass half empty or half full?

You were meant for greatness! However, it is your perspective on greatness which might have to be modified. Also, you need to verify your benchmark and divide it into categories. For example:

Where do you want to be professionally in five years?
Where do you want to live?
What you want to achieve?
Children? Marriage?

After you have the answers to those questions you have to make a plan to achieve your goals and objectives. Take small steps, but steady ones.

You are the type of person who will be never satisfied. Yet, look back and see all the good things you have accomplished.

I am not saying to stay put. I am saying to admire what you have accomplish until now. Then, reach for the stars and take one.

I am over the hill so to speak. I do not feel like I was meant to BE something more but I always felt I should DO more , do more for society, for a better world. I feel I let myself down on that point.

Everyone probably imagines they could or should be doing something more than they are, every now and then. What's cool though is that for every ten times you feel that way, one time you will also feel like you're in exactly the right place at the right time, doing exactly what you are supposed to do. Though it doesn't happen that often, it is such a more enjoyable and more powerful feeling it is all worth it!

All the time. I however would not let it get you down. You can always do things to change this. Go back to school and do what you would really like and make the most of whatever you are doing now. As long as you are givin it your all who can ask for more.

I'm sure you could have been more in life.

You were probably out having a good time or watching TV as a teenager when I was in my room all night studying hard.

I grew up poor in Scotland and attended a tough school where everybody dropped out at 15. My Dad was a labourer in a shipyard. We had no money.

I retired as an executive in IBM.

It takes guts and its never too late!

well as a matter of fact the older i get the more i keep asking myself the same question, but it seems like the older i get the less likely i can change who i am now. so to answer your question, yes i think i was meant to be something more than i am now. but the thing is its hard to change who you are now if you don't change it early in your life. then again like the old saying goes, " its never to late to change"............ my 2 cents. ; )

I THINK THE SAME AS HIM

Yes, everyone thinks that of themselves. Sometimes others let you know that thought you would be more you are or want to be as well. I just say oh well and continue the way I want until I can't. As long you made the choice for yourself no worries.

No! I believe you can be whatever you want to be, once you put your mind on it. If you want to achive more in your life, you need to have goals and work on them til you get there. Everything is possible. Don't spend your time thinking like that, do something constructive about it.
