ok my question is what do you think the US economy would be like today if we had started spending the money we have spent on the iraq war on making Hydrogen Research to make it commerically liable and readily available, or even solar power or biodiesel

I think they would have used the money on something else instead of planning for the future fuel needs of our country. We would probably be in the same or worse shape than we are now. Remember back in 1979 when we had the fuel shortage? I know prices were not nearly what they are now, but in comparison to wages, it is about the same kind of deal. We all need to learn to be more conservative.

That all depends on the nature of the terrorists next major attack. I figure we would be missing a lot off refineries.

the economy would probably be crap now. because we would still be, being attacked by terrorists here, instead of killing them over there. go hug a tree

I think you'd have a few trillion more to spend. But the government would say you didn't have it if you wanted it for poverty, education, healthcare, seniors etc.
