Many of them wouldn't, because they don't give shows time to find an audience anymore. Nowadays if a show doesn't have ratings it is gone. Many hit shows in the past took a year or more to become rating winners.

I can name a few. Leave it to Beaver, Three's company, Bionic Man, The scarecrow and Mrs. King, Hawaii five 0, Dennis the Menace, Flipper, Mary Tyler Moore, Dick Van Dyke, and last but not least... Dukes of Hazzard. Corny *** show.
