You just get blisters...lucky you. When I danced my toes would bleed from being on point. Here is what I did:
1. I started out wrapping my toes with lambs wool, helped a bit, but still experienced bleeding.
2. I tried three different types of toes shoes, the first two caused my toes to bleed, the last pair and of course the most expensive (2 pairs every year) did not cause any bleeding or blisters, they were like slipping on a glove and oh so comfortable. The make was Freed of London. They are handmade and each cobbler has their own style, you may have to try a couple of different Freed's cobblers until you come up with the one that suits you best.
3. Over time (many years of point work) my toes toughened up enough that I didn't need lamb's wool and would no longer bleed.
Being a dancer does mean blisters, bleeding toes etc. it just goes with the package.
Keep on dancing!

Don't use vaseoline,, that would be the worst idea ever. I would do as Kim said, tape it up good, then use some cream, or, keep them really dry with talc (baby powder), this dries up the excess moisture which is what makes your toes stick together to create all this excess friction. I've never danced ballet, but I do dance Salsa and have participated in triathlons, marathons...you name it. If you have insurance, see a podietrist, should only cost you $20 or something, seek the advice of other pro-dancers, the older they are the more wisdom they should have. All the best, -G

My daughter dances ballet. Blisters are a part of life. To reduce the occurrence , try getting some good quality toe pads. Some people like the gel pads others prefer the lambs wool.
Also, make sure you get professionally fitted for toe shoes. A good quality shoe that fits well is critical.

I get blisters too. What you really should do is tape your toes. I use masking tape, but you can use medical tape, etc. You should also use a foot cream. Let your existing blister dry off. Don't pick at it or it'll get infected.
Blisters form when skin gets irrtated from rubbing up against something.
